Homescaper, LLC was formed on March 9, 2001 by Roger Miller. My passion for Oregon and its wonderful diversity of plant materials began when I moved from Indiana in 1976 to work in one of Oregon's oldest wholesale nurseries. Since then, I have worked for several landscapers, nurseries and retail garden centers. I've also served as a marketing and advertising consultant for several business-to-business and retail clients, including one of the area's largest and most respected independent retail garden centers, and the Oregon Association of Nurseryman (OAN), which represents Oregon's nursery and greenhouse industry.

Homescaper is the realization of my lifelong passion for plants and gardening. Through the process of landscaping my own homes, I discovered that do-it-yourself landscaping is a logical way to indulge my enjoyment of gardening, increase the value of my home…and save some money as well!

The national trend towards do-it-yourself landscaping is especially strong in the Northwest. The beauty of the concept is that it doesn't require any special skills; anyone can install their own plants. As a nurseryman once said: "Everyone can remember that the green side goes up!" The problem is that most do-it-yourselfers are uncomfortable with determining which plants to select and where to place them in the garden. A landscape design is the best way to ensure that the garden will thrive while meeting the needs of the homeowner.

Unfortunately, do-it-yourselfers are often frustrated when they set out for the retail nursery with their new landscape design in hand. It is often difficult to find the varieties, sizes and quantities specified on the plan. Substitutions are often the only option...defeating the purpose of creating the design in the first place!

Homescaper was formed to provide the Portland area's do-it-yourself landscapers with a logical and thorough approach to getting their gardens up and growing. Let us show you how we can help.
